Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to join our custom metal fabrication team. You would be responsible for performing high-quality welding and painting tasks to create custom metal products according to product specifications. This role requires expertise in welding techniques along with a commitment to safety, precision, and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Welding Tasks:
- Perform welding on various metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, to fabricate custom components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication.
- Cut, fit, and assemble metal parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Inspect welds for quality, ensuring they meet structural and aesthetic standards.
General Duties:
- Operate and maintain fabrication tools and equipment, such as welders, grinders.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Assist in quality control checks and final inspections of fabricated products.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a welder in a metal fabrication or similar environment.
- Proficiency in MIG and/or stick welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Familiarity with a variety of metals and their properties.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy materials and work in various conditions.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in welding operations.
- Valid welding certification (e.g., AWS, ASME) is preferred but not required.
- Experience with custom metal fabrication is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Full-time position with potential for overtime.
- Work is performed in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals (proper PPE provided).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
