Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter & Welder to join our custom metal fabrication team. You would be responsible for performing high-quality welding and painting tasks to create custom metal products according to product specifications. This role requires expertise in welding techniques, surface preparation, and painting applications, along with a commitment to safety, precision, and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:
Welding Tasks:

Perform welding on various metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, to fabricate custom components.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication.
Cut, fit, and assemble metal parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
Inspect welds for quality, ensuring they meet structural and aesthetic standards.

Painting Tasks:

Prepare surfaces for painting through cleaning, sanding, and priming to ensure proper adhesion and finish.
Apply paint, powder coatings, or other finishes to metal surfaces using spray guns, brushes, or other tools.
Mix and match paint colors to meet project requirements and client specifications.
Ensure even application and high-quality finishes, addressing any imperfections or touch-ups as needed.

General Duties:

Operate and maintain fabrication tools and equipment, such as welders, grinders, sanders, and spray guns.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Assist in quality control checks and final inspections of fabricated products.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and clients to ensure project requirements are met.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a welder and painter in a metal fabrication or similar environment.
Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding techniques.
Knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques, including experience with spray painting and powder coating.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Familiarity with a variety of metals and their properties.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy materials and work in various conditions.
Knowledge of safety standards and practices in welding and painting operations.
Valid welding certification (e.g., AWS, ASME) is preferred but not required.
Experience with custom metal fabrication is a plus.
Typing proficiency.
Valid driver's license.

Work Environment:

Full-time position with potential for overtime.
Work is performed in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals (proper PPE provided).
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
